Māui And The Giant Ika

In the story there are Maui and his brothers and Maui is a demi god.
In the first part of the story Maui’s brothers where going fishing but Maui is not
allowed to go fishing because  his brothers won’t let him. Maui had a plan to
hide in the Waka for the whole night so that he could go fishing with his
brothers.

In the second part of the story Maui scares his brothers when they are
out at sea fishing because he jumps out of his hiding spot and Maui says
to his brothers,“Let's keep going out” but his brothers don't want to but
Maui paddles out to where he thinks there's fish. Maui's brothers say,“We are
not giving you any bait”.

At the end of the story Maui uses his grandmother's jawbone as a hook
and puts it on his nose and uses blood from his nose for bait. Maui throws
the jawbone out  and gets a mighty bite and he pulls it up and Maui says
this is a gift from our grandmother. He pulls up a fish that is the size of a land.
Maui goes to travel to the head of the fish to get his jaw bone and he ask
his brothers not to touch the fish .The brothers start too chop it up because
they are jealous and  this fish became the North Island. Because Maui's
brothers chopped it up that’s why there are hills there.

When our group did our play I felt it was going to go really well. One of the
things we did well was looking to the audience and not turning our backs
to the audience. We enjoyed making the props and performing. As a team
we helped each other if we got stuck on a word or something. We participated
in making the masks and performing our play. We contributed by bringing the
props from our homes. One thing I would improve on next time is to memorize
my lines.
